How do you get substitute teaching work in Los Angeles?
I have my Emergency 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit, but am at a loss as to how to get work. It looks like SubFinder is the standard for schools to finds subs, but there is no information available on how to become part of the SubFinder database. Any explanation would be greatly appreciated! you cannot be a part of subfinder until the district hires you. Subfinder is our internal notification system. You have to be a lausd employee to use it. You need to get hired. You have quite a problem on your hands - my district (LAUSD) just layed off 3000 employees - many of whome got put into the system. We are not currently hiring subs, as the ones we have are not getting work. Here is the page you would get hired from: http://www.teachinla.com/substitute/ notice near the bottom it states we are not hiring. You should use the time to get fully certified.
