there was a 5.8 earthquake a few minutes ago

There has been an earthquake in LA at 11:42 a.m. PDT (2:42 p.m. EDT) - a 5.8 according to the U.S.G.S. - considered to be "moderate." It's possible that there are simply a LOT of people calling (which will clog up the network), or that there has been some damage, although I haven't heard of any significant damage. I'd try waiting a couple of hours, and then calling again, if you need to call someone in that area. According to CNN, there are no reports of damage to buildings, or of any injuries, so I imagine it's just really BUSY, and that makes it tough to get through.
