About what are some places that I can do volunteer work in Los Angeles, specifically around West Hollywood area

What are some places that I can do volunteer work in Los Angeles, specifically around West Hollywood area..?
I need to do some volunteer work, specific hours, and maybe after that on my own time, what are some places in West Hollywood? Just throw out some suggestions. Thanks

Try VolunteerAmerica,com. Try your own church. After school tutor, Community services. Most hospitals can take volunteers but don't count on trying to treat any patients, the doctors and nurses don't like competition. I would think the non-profit (associated with a charity or a church like Presbyterian has a couple in town). One of the more enjoyable may be a bit too far for you, CHOC, Childrens Hostpital of Orange County in Santa Ana.

Any one no of volunteer work in Los Angeles, CA around Thanksgiving?
Hi, I can not volunteer on Thanksgiving day this year but would like to volunteer on the days leading up to Thanksgiving preparing food or bag lunches etc... in the Los Angeles area. Let me know if you know of any organizations. Community Service - 1 Answers

Homeless shelters are always in need of volunteers, especially around Thanksgiving when they are preparing a special meal for their guests. I suggest the following homeless shelter: http://losangelesmission.org/index.html You can also Google "los angeles homeless shelters" or talk to other people at your church, workplace, or other places.
